Es ist nun wieder soweit: Wir laden euch herzlich zur 21. Gulaschprogrammiernacht ein!

Auf der Gulaschprogrammiernacht gibt es wieder alles, was das Hacker- bzw. Haecksen-Herz begehrt: Vorträge, Workshops, Demoshow, Blinkedingsies, Musik, ein großes Hackcenter, Karlsruhes Jahresvorräte an Mate und Tschunk, eine epische Lounge, eine wundervolle Lavawiese und natürlich: Gulasch! Vier Tage lang wird wieder gehackt, vorgetragen, gebastelt und diskutiert, dass die Nullen und Einsen fliegen. Willkommen sind alle, von den üblichen Verdächtigen bis zu den noch völlig Unerfahrenen, Niedagewesenen.
Vorträge und Workshops
Wie viele Vorträge und Workshops letztendlich zur Auswahl stehen und wie interessant sie sein werden, das hängt ganz von euch ab! Wir freuen uns auf Vorträge zu bunt gefächerten Themen und einem breiten Workshopprogramm für alle Teilnehmer*innen. Eure Vorschläge könnt ihr im Pretalx bis zum 07. Mai einreichen. Wenn ihr nicht selbst etwas anbieten wollt, aber Menschen kennt, die ihr unbedingt als Speaker*innen auf der GPN sehen möchtet, dann werdet aktiv und weist sie auf diesen Aufruf hin. Bitte gestaltet Vorträge und Workshops möglichst barrierefrei und für ein breites Publikum verständlich. Die Vorträge werden standardmäßig aufgezeichnet und auf media.ccc.de online gestellt, ein Opt-Out ist jederzeit möglich.

Als Wesen mit elektronischen Maschinen treibt uns der immer problematisch werdender Mangel an Computer-Chips, jeglicher Art in eine Zwickmühle: Einerseits würden wir gerne günstige Hardware beziehen und andererseits die Lieferketten verbessern, um den Rest der Welt, nicht noch mehr kaputt zu machen.
Das Ausweichen auf Alternativen, die allen einen Nutzen bringen ist daher unausweichlich. Gerade der Open-Source Gedanke vereinfacht und verbessert unsere Gesellschaft ungemein, auch wenn noch viele Menschen nie davon gehört haben. Es ist quasi eine Verpflichtung, auch an zukünftige Generationen, unseren bisherigen Designs zu überdenken und Sie zu Alternativen zu verbessern. Auf das Hardware möglichst gut recyclebar und einsetzbar wird. Lasst uns daher gemeinsam Ch(ea|i)p Alternativen entwickeln, deren Kosten möglichst gering sind.
Wir möchten euch ermutigen, auch als unerfahrene Speaker*innen einen Talk einzureichen - kontaktiert uns einfach, falls ihr Unterstützung benötigt.
Trollen
Die GPN funktioniert, wie alle anderen Chaos-Events, nur dank des tatkräftigen Einsatzes vieler Helfer*innen, die vom Infodesk bis zu den Livestreams alles am Laufen halten. Wer mitmachen will, kann sich jetzt im Trollsystem registrieren. Wer tatkräftig hilft, hat die Chance auf eine Schüssel mit GPN21-Motiv, die exklusiv den Helfer*innen vorbehalten ist. Außerdem gibt es noch weitere Goodies. Bei speziellen Tätigkeiten werden Neulinge eingewiesen, sodass auch hier keine Vorkenntnisse oder besonderen Qualifikationen nötig sind.

Mini-FAQ
- „Was kostet ein Ticket?“ – Es gibt keine Tickets und der Eintritt ist frei. Die GPN ist spendenfinanziert, die Preise für Getränke und Essen werden möglichst niedrig gehalten. Um die Veranstaltung in diesem und auch im nächsten Jahr zu ermöglichen, sind wir auf eure Spenden angewiesen.
- „Warum sollte ich mich anmelden?“ – Damit wir wissen, wie viele Stühle, Tische, Gulasch- und Tschunkzutaten bestellt werden müssen. Textil-Swag muss bei der Anmeldung reserviert werden. Zudem bekommt ihr ein kostenloses ÖPNV-Ticket über die Anmeldung.
- „Was sind Trolle?“ – So nennen wir unsere Helfer*innen, vergleichbar zu den Engeln bei anderen Chaosveranstaltungen. Komm vorbei und trolle mit uns!
- „Ich habe noch andere Fragen!“ – Dann schau zuerst auf unserer ausführlichen FAQ nach und wenn du dort keine Antwort findest, schreibe uns eine Mail.

The time has finally come: We want to invite you to the 21st Gulaschprogrammiernacht!

You will find anything the hearts of hackers and haecksen long for at the Gulaschprogrammiernacht: talks, workshops, a demo show, blinkenlights, a big hackcenter, Karlsruhe’s yearly supply of mate and Tschunk, an epic lounge, a wonderful lava meadow, and of course … wonderful goulash! As always, four days of hacking, lecturing, tinkering, and discussing await you. Everybody is welcome, from the usual suspects to the (as of yet) inexperienced first-timers.
Lectures and workshops
The amount of talks and workshops that are going to be held is completely up to you, as is their content! We are looking forward to a wide range of topics for talks and workshops aimed at all participants. You can submit your very own proposals through Pretalx. If you do not want to get up on stage yourself, but know people you would enjoy to see as speakers at the GPN, please forward this call for participation to them. Remember to make your presentations and workshops as accessible and understandable as possible. Presentations will be recorded by default and posted online at media.ccc.de, opt-out is possible at any time.
“lack (noun, singular/uncountable) A situation in which you do not have any, or enough, of something that you need or want.” (from: Macmillan Dictionary) The increasing lack of computer chips puts all of us electronic machines wielding people in a difficult place: On the one hand, we wish to source cheap hardware, on the other hand we strive for better supply chains so as to not aggravate the environment’s condition any further. In call, switching to alternatives that serve both goals is an inevitable development. Notably, open-source based projects have proven to ameliorate our society, even if the majority of people are unaware of this manner of collaboration. It is our responsibility to rethink, redraft, and rebuild our prior designs and come up with solutions suited to current challenges. Raise a Mate to more affordable and sustainable hardware—let us develop ch(ea|i)p alternatives!
We would very much like to encourage you to hand in talks, even if you consider yourself an inexperienced speaker. Should you be in need of any help, simply reach out to us and we will provide you with assistance as best as we can!
Trolling
The GPN, like all other Chaos events, is only possible thanks to the energetic efforts of many helpers who keep everything running, from the info desk to the live-streams. If you want to lend a hand, you can pre-register starting now by joining troll system. Those amongst the most diligent and active will receive a thank you in form of our iconic bowl with the GPN21 design—an item reserved exclusively for helpers. But that is not all: Let us surprise you with other goodies as well. For certain specialised activities, newcomers will be receive a brief introduction, so that no previous knowledge or special qualifications are necessary even for the fanciest of shifts.

Mini-FAQ
- “How much is a ticket?” — There are no tickets and admission is free. GPN is donor-funded and prices for drinks and food are deliberately kept as low as possible. We rely on your donations to make this year’s (and any further) event a reality.
- “Why should I register?” — It helps us plan how many chairs, tables, goulash, and tschunk ingredients we have to provide for. Textile swag must be reserved at the time of registration. Also, by registering, you will get a free public transport ticket for the duration of the event.
- “What are trolls?” — That is the name of our helpers, comparable to “angels” at other chaos events. Come by and be a troll!
- “I have other questions!” — If you have not found your answer in our detailed FAQ, drop us a message.
