The Event

This year’s Remote Chaos Experience (rC3) brings together entities from all over the world in digital space. Between Christmas and New Year, we want to try out together what’s possible in cyberspace. We want to talk to each other, exchange ideas and learn from each other. We will talk about hardware, making, science, IT security, politics and whatever else.

Nach langer Suche haben wir einen Exoplanet mit habitabler Zone entdeckt. Erste Messungen lassen auf eine hohe Viruslast schließen. Eine bemannte Mission ist daher nicht durchführbar. Unser erstes Raumschiff ist zur Datenaufnahme unterwegs. Es werden noch weitere Raumschiffe mit Modulen für eine Bodenstation und Erkundungsrobotern folgen. Das Easterhegg 2020 findet in der Zeit vom 10. April 2020 bis zum 13. April 2020 statt. Auch dieses Jahr wird es wieder vier Tage Workshops, Vorträge und weitere Veranstaltungen geben. Der Call for Artists sei hiermit eröffnet und endet am 29. Februar um 24:00 CET.

We’re 36C3’s Resilience and Sustainability content team and want to show you just our bit of work that helped making this year’s Fahrplan as amazing as it has turned out.

Our team consists of hackers and scientists, tinkerers and PhDs and was formed for 34C3 when we felt that the conference was developing a blind spot between complete destruction of all the IT things and the fascinations for the resulting apocalypse. We wanted to give a stage to new and shiny useful technology for a better and more resilient world – with actual prototypes!

Last Sunday at midnight the submission period for our Call for Participation ended. The last submission, by a Swiss, landed just in time at 23:59:20 UTC. Our content curation teams will now use the next two weeks to review, rate, sort, and ultimately decide on a large number of submissions. We intend to inform all submitters on November 11th on whether we found a place for them in our Fahrplan.

Wer bei einem Patch an eine neue verbesserte Software-Version denkt, der hat natürlich recht. Aber was heißt Patch eigentlich noch? Im Englischen versteht man darunter auch ein Pflaster, ein Fetzen oder einen Flicken.
Mit Software verbinden wir Patches nur weil in der Computer Steinzeit Daten auf Loch- und später dann auch Magnetstreifen abgelegt wurden. Wenn jetzt etwas geändert werden soll dann müsste man einen Teil des Streifens herausschneiden und einen neuen einkleben – mit einem Fetzen Klebeband wurde das Band also geflickt.
