Das zweite Türchen.
Nach jedem Congress gibt es üblicherweise eine Reihe von Geräten, die wir weniger gerne nutzen als vorher. Auch auf dem 31C3 in Hamburg wurden in bester Congress-Tradition einige Technologien ordentlich auseinandergenommen und ihre Schwachstellen offengelegt. Manche sorgten dabei für Gelächter und Kopfschütteln.
Das erste Türchen.
2011 war das letzte Jahr, in dem der Chaos Communication Congress im Berliner bcc gastierte. Passend zum damaligen Motto „Behind enemy lines“ kommentierte der Schriftsteller und Journalist Cory Doctorow in seinem Vortrag „The coming war on general computation“ vor vollem Haus die Copyright Wars.
Zu unserer Freude haben sich in den letzten Jahren immer mehr Junghacker auf dem Congress eingefunden. Daher bieten wir auch diesmal, wie schon in den Vorjahren, einen speziell auf Kinder und Jugendliche zugeschnittenen Junghackertag an.
Am zweiten Congresstag, dem 28. Dezember, organisieren Freiwillige aus vielen Assemblies von etwa 10 bis 17 Uhr ein vielseitiges Workshop-Programm für angehende Hacker und Hackerinnen.

It’s that time of the year again: We’re going to gather in Leipzig at the Chaos Communication Congress with our fellow mad hatters and get lectured. But before we can have the time of our lives, we need you, you, you to make the Fahrplan as frictionless as possible – we have to shuffle around a record-breaking number of around 160 lectures.

Do you remember our camping trip to congress last year?
It was awesome. Never leaving the area, Congress 24/4. When getting tired we’d only have to take a couple of steps out of hall 2 and fall into our beds. In the morning we’d take a quick shower and were back into the fray.
What do you think? Should we do it again to 35C3?

“Seidenstrasse”, the pneumatic tube system made from drainage pipe and vacuum cleaners, traditionally makes it possible to send capsules with cookies, hard disks and more. But the extent of it is dependent on the amount of help we get during buildup and especially teardown.
Last year basically 2-3 people did a large part of that work: hanging up and and tearing down the pipe.
That is a lot of work for a few people and has to be spread across more people. Hanging up and tearing down the pipe happens early during buildup in the week before and after Congress.

Year after year we called for you to come, assemble, build, hack and to be awesome. Last year we asked you to assemble the assemblies to become one even more awesome creature. It was splendid. This year, it shall be created again and thus we call: Assemble, Launch, Go!

Auch dieses Jahr strebt der Chaos Communication Congress an, als Bildungsveranstaltung in einigen Bundesländern anerkannt zu werden. Damit sind Congress-Teilnehmer in der Lage Bildungsurlaub zu beantragen und müssen nicht ihren normalen Erholungsurlaub dafür verwenden.
