About freedom green.png

Freedom is nothing given but something we have to fight for and protect every day.

about:freedom is a cluster with a focus on digital (human) rights politics, freedom of information and Free Software advocacy, formed during the last Chaos Communication Congresses. It's an open policy arena and a union of different and diverse organisations from all over the world promoting Free Software and defending and extending digital rights. Transparency, freedom, collaboration, privacy, autonomy, decentralization, emancipation, diversity, equal access and participation are the core defining principles of this orbit.

At the Chaos Communication Camp, we will share our space for the first time with multiple organisations who struggle for a social-ecological transformation. Together we like to find out what role sustainability plays for stable tech communities, what role plays digital sustainability in preserving our planet and can the digital society be peaceful, sustainable and free? The more we find in common, the more we know this is one struggle, one fight!

If you are interested now, have a look at our sessions, pass by our information booths and do not miss to hang out with us in our cosy space or challenge us with interesting discussions. All creatures welcome!

about:space

On-site we are planning to provide space for our assemblies, a kitchen, workshops, a common booth and an area to relax and dream the dream of freedom. We might give more updates on this once we are on-site and have constructed our area but the best way to find out about our space is to drop by and say hello : )

Aboutfreedom-from-street.png

We are a safe space and respect each other, no matter the dispute at stake. Concretely, we adhere to the Contributor Covenant Code of Conduct: https://www.contributor-covenant.org/version/1/4/code-of-conduct

We have shifts of volunteers who always make sure that our space is clean and safe. If you encounter a problem, please get in contact with the respective shift. You can find the schedule of shifts here: https://lite.framacalc.org/aboutshifts2019
