"The idea is - how do I lead a nice and good life without overstretching my carbon budget? So exact calculation is not necessary, just a broad guesstimation will be enough.
First I will show a few tools of how to make an calculation/guess/estimation of carbon emissions of stuff/travel/energy use. Then we go on and calculate a few examples. To finish it all up - bring your own examples and we can try and have a go at them: Your last meal and drink, your car, your house (bring your energy performance certificate), your favorite pet, your last holiday, ...
It is best if you bring a computing device that can run Windows binaries, because we will be using GEMIS (www.gemis.de), which - sadly - is only available for Windows. GEMIS runs well enough using a recent version of Wine, so no full Windows installation necessary."
