#clubsAREculture: Kickr-off event in Frankfurt (Main) on 25th Aug 2023

The campaign #clubsAREculture aims to advance the recognition of clubs as cultural venues and to safeguard club culture in times of serious crises and important political decisions.

#clubsAREculture is a joint platform for protagonists who are committed to the recognition of club and music clubs as culture. These include the Bundesstiftung LiveKultur (Federal Foundation Live Culture), the LiveMusikKommission with numerous affiliated member associations and the Chaos Computer Club.

CCC events such as the latest camp would not be possible without the support of the club and festival scene. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all those involved.

On 25 August, the #clubsAREculture Day will take place in Frankfurt (Main) and will focus on politics on both the federal state and national level. Starting at 18:30 at the Museum of Modern Electronic Music (MOMEM), Armand Zorn (Member of the German parliament, SPD [Social Democrats]), Deborah Düring (Member of the German parliament, Bündnis 90/Die Grünen [Green Party]), Dana Ruh (international DJ, producer and record store operator) and Steffen Kache (Managing Director of the Distillery) will discuss “Club culture in the real estate crunch – Why urban development must change”.

Afterwards, starting at 20:30, Tanzhaus West will also invite to a panel talk “clubsAREculture – And now?“ with politicians from the federal state of Hesse. Around this panel discussion, the club will open its doors for an opportunity to experience club culture in a wide variety of facets, although by no means all facets, in a club night.
