39C3 — Call for Heralds
TL;DR:
This year, the Heralds will once again guide you through the 39C3 program. Unlike previous years, there have been some changes.
Would you like to join the Herald team? Then please contact 39c3-heralds@cccv.de by December 1 with the following information:
- Which Herald category you see yourself in (experienced Herald/mentor, Herald mentee)
- Link to a recording of your moderation (if available)
- Language skills (de/en/fr)
- Preferred topics/tracks (e.g., security, hardware, politics & society, art & beauty)
- Availability (day x, mornings, afternoons, evenings, nights)
The Heralds guide the audience through the stage program of 39C3. They introduce speakers, keep track of time, and moderate Q&A sessions.
To become a Herald, attendance at the introductory meeting on Day 0 is mandatory. We will announce the time and room at a later date.
There are two types of Heralds:
Experienced Heralds and mentors
If you already have experience moderating on larger stages (audience > 500 people), then you’ve come to the right place.
Herald Mentees
Have you already gained some experience as a presenter on smaller stages and now want to take to the big stage? Then the mentee shifts are just right for you. In a mentee shift, you will accompany an experienced member of the Herald team in the main track. If you and your mentor feel that you are ready to moderate your first presentation in the main track, you will be given the opportunity to do so. If all else fails, your mentor will be there to take over.
Would you like to get involved in one of these roles in the Herald team? Then get in touch with 39c3-heralds@cccv.de by December 1 with the following information:
