Announcing FireShonks23 – Call for Angels

The remote end-of-year event called FireShonks23 is hosted by r3s (remote-rhein-ruhr-stage) and Haecksen and will take place on 27–30 December 2023. Talks and workshops will be available to the public only remotely, workshops only live on the internet. Talks will subsequently be published on media.ccc.de.

With this format, we want to enable accessibility to topics that are otherwise only offered on-site. Low-barrier events require a very high level of organisation. We take advantage of online tools and event technology to achieve the best possible outcome for a community event.

The focus of this offer is on easy and free accessibility and therefore also on inclusion. Much emphasis is placed on on-site infection control. A small team will be in charge of the stage and the streaming technology on site in Wülfrath at the WIR-Haus. More helping elves (er, “Haje”/sharks) are still welcome to join the team. The CfP for talks and workshops will probably be published at the end of October and linked on fireshonks.de. Preparations are in full swing, the FireShonks are looking forward to your submissions!
