For this years MRMCD we’re looking again for interesting contributions. Topics usually present on the MRMCD are for example Open Source projects, Cryptography, Social Networks, embedded systems, programming languages, privacy and anonymity and the resulting social questions.

According to this year’s topic we’re especially looking forward for topics on the interface of body and technology, let it be research or development under the keyword Self Quan­tiza­t­i­on or interesting technologies from the field of sports and competition.

The Chaos Communication Camp in Mildenberg is an open-air hacker camp and party that takes place every four years, organized by the Chaos Computer Club (CCC). Thousands of hackers, technology freaks, artists and utopians get together in a field for five days in the Brandenburg high summer – to communicate, learn, hack on things and party together.

We focus on topics such as information technology, digital security, hacking, crafting, making and breaking, and we engage in creative, sceptical discourse on the interaction between technology and society.

Call for Papers: CryptoCon15 – Alles Blümchenwiese?

From the 7th to the 10th of May in 2015, the Leipzig hackerspace sublab e.V. will open its doors in the Westwerk for CryptoCon15[1]. This annual event will take place for the third time. The focus of the four-day event is on cryptography, practical encryption, decentral communication structures, legal and regulatory issues in digital society, data protection and privacy, open hardware, hacktivism, attack scenarios on IT and communications systems as well as security solutions and protocols.

Camp Field Day on Sat 21st March

On Saturday, 21st of March we’ll visit the camp site to have a first look and exchange ideas and plans.

Please come and join us if you plan to be part of a village or project that has special needs, e.g. regarding place and infrastructure. Also feel invited if you are part of a team and/or if you are willing to spend a good amount of your time to support us organizing the camp. After more than three thousand guests at the last Camp in 2011, we expect many outdoor enthusiasts, who like to hack during the day and marvel at the light displays at night and will celebrate the ultimate party in the middle of the festival season with us. The YouTube and stream dump problem

In the past the CCC has decided to not run its own YouTube account as we didn’t want to advertise this service. Despite the growing success and continual improvements to media.ccc.de as a streaming platform, people still want to watch CCC talks on YouTube. Unfortunately, many YouTube accounts have shown up which claim to be official CCC accounts. We ignored this for a long time as it was a nice service for the viewer and hey – it’s CC-BY content. However there are some problems with these accounts which we will address later.
