Assembly specification 3. We need something special or in between those options: Please specify in the field planning notes.
Planning notes To put it simply the last year location next to Foyer D-G would be great mainly because of it's access to the running water and drainage for the sinks needed for the experimental kitchen, biolab and workshop area, it was very useful (round 10x10 m by the way)! Again we would install piping and sinks to make this happen, it worked well last year no damage or complains what we know off. Access to the electricity which will be enough to support several induction stoves and maybe smaller electric oven etc. would be lovely, at least 5 kW if possible, the last year electric set up worked fine for us. Especially the workshops/sessions need to be done at the assembly because we need the infrastructure (kitchen, biolab and workshop venue) to make them happen, they are hands on mostly, enough place is necessary, again last year location was fine. This year other groups are joining us- EveryCook, Edgeryders, DIY bio and probably more so we really need space and also tables - we make workshop tables but for sitting and presentation we need at least 8, 10 would be better (we can make some too if really necessary). PS As before no plan for serving food to the public, there will be some tasters for free, donations appreciated, same story as at previous events, we hope it is OK.

Goals

Coming together again interlinking people who are into food, beverage and bio hacking and most of all having a good time! As usually we will focus on learning, teaching and experimenting (but don't worry hanging out time will be on the program too :-) ). Establishing the experimental kitchen and workshop venue at the last year congress was great breakthrough and success giving as an opportunity to carry out many food&beverage hacking activities so lets repeat it! This time we want to lay the foundations to a proper biolab, so that will be this year challenge. You can join our workshops, give some if you like, or just come, have a chat, check out what we are up to and relax before your next presentation …

Guidelines

“Be excellent to each other” is are creed, lets stick to it OK! Be sensitive about the follow foodhackers around you, keeping them safe from your experimental frenzy and give them your ear if they need it. It is a long ride through the life, many experiences therefore to grow with "swarms" of mistakes on the way, however keep in mind that it is the community which matters and you are it's part, be happy :-).

FHB Sections

In this section you can see our ideas how shape the fhb assembly at 31c3.

Food Hacking Base/Budget

Us usually we look for an independent funding so if you want to see this happen please do chip in (for more information how to support got to Food Hacking Base/Support Us)! Here Under the budget section is an overview of how much is needed by financial means and for what. The goal is to rise around €2000-3000 before and during the whole event to keep in plus numbers.

Food Hacking Base/Workshops

Serving as a hub sharing knowledge and experience both practically and theoretically is what we are after. You can come and join us learning how to make a prison wine, realizing that brewing your kombucha is easy or make some insect delights ... Cheese randevou will be there to broaden your horizons and many others. All donation based no one turned away for luck of funds, just check it out!

Food Hacking Base/Projects

These activities are centered around certain topic like for example brewing, or building an experimental incubator and are going include workshops, talks and gatherings and will go on during the congress. As in the years before experimental incubator building and prototyping will be on, so will be fermentations etc.

Food Hacking Base/Gear, Tools and Ingredients

We do have a wish list of the equipment which we would like to get for this event. If you can bring some gear please let us know, it helps! We have also build over the years our own repository which we bring to the events. Our budget will serve as a "buffer" in case that some of the equipment which we use would be damaged, so we can replace it/repay it.
