about:freedom
about:freedom is a cluster with a focus on digital (human) rights and Free Software advocacy. We are a union of non-profits who together form an open gallery, a patio surrounded by diverse political organisations from all over the planet that help empowering people in their self-determined handling of technology. Freedom, transparency, collaboration, privacy, autonomy, sustainability, decentralization, emancipation, diversity and equal access are the core defining principles of this orbit. We invite you to join our cosy village square where we grow together, bond ties, learn from each other and dream the dream of freedom!
about:freedom understands that there is no freedom without future. At this year's camp we grew together with our friends who struggle for a social-ecological transformation and the 36C3 will be the first congress in that we share the space with about:future - multiple organisations who struggle for a social-ecological transformation.
Together we like to find out what role sustainability plays for stable tech communities, what role plays digital sustainability in preserving our planet and where to go for a digital society to be peaceful, sustainable and free? At the 36C3 we join forces again and demand "Freedom for Future"!
If you are interested now, have a look at our sessions, pass by our information booths and do not miss to hang out with us in our cosy space or challenge us with interesting discussions. All creatures welcome!

about:st.jude
Our Haecksen shrine is dedicated to St.Jude who gave us cypherpunk. She was a self-taught hacker and author.
"St. Jude had her hand in many different causes. She was active in the 1960s Civil Rights Movement helping to organize the march from Selma to Montgomery, Alabama. Dedicated to protest, Milhon was also jailed for civil disobedience in Jackson, Mississippi.
Activism within the cyber community was important to Milhon as well. She frequently urged women toward the internet and hacking while encouraging them to have "tough skin" in the face of harassment. The creation of cypherpunks was also part of her politic: the goals of privacy through encryption." taken from Wikipedia
