A typical biography of an artist usually begins in the earliest childhood of the person concerned. It’s in his childhood that Jacob Groening started learning various instruments such as guitar and drums. But honestly … what can we say of such informations about an artist? Two facts should be highlighted here to justify what has driven Jacob to be artist as well as a dynamic organizer: He is absolute self-taught and he loves the city of Hamburg. This musical maturity in his music probably probably come from the fact that he began to play with turntables at the age of 13 years old! With no musical direction at the beginning, he finally put everything on the turntable and DJM came under his fingers. He tries to combine all his different musical influences (Hip Hop, Drum n’bass and Techno) to cook the best piece of music. At the beginning of his career as a DJ in 2006, he realized that he would be able to spread music in the world with his own hands. After a gig of the band on the famous Reeperbahn street in Hamburg he brought out few plates, approached the DJ booth and finally started to play. Few minutes after the beginning of his set, he was into the heart of the bar owner, who immediately made him as a resident. The relatively small audience of Funk & Soul Bar no longer handed him soon. And so he decided to significantly shape the Hamburg nightlife with their own parties. In 2009 he called the party series « Klingt wie.. » and a year later « Tanzen hilft! ». Now he has found a permanent home in Hamburg ego night club where already played great artists like Monika Kruse, Alle Farben, Sascha Braemer, Niconé and many others!
His own gigs and lovely sets on SoundCloud quickly brings him to be more and more recommended and requested by several night club of Hamburg city. Since 2012, he also belongs to the solid crew of Berlin / Hamburg event series « Voll Schön ». Jacob have already played in many parts of Germany and in famous night club like Ego (Hamburg), Club Chalet and Ritter Butzke (Berlin), Kong (Munich), Villa Hasenholz (Leipzig) and the big Fusion Festival (Lärz). We can say that Jacob belongs to the big deep and tech-house sphere. With influences from many styles of electronic music, he always enriches his sets and give them the famous “little something different”.
