Are you staying at Tryp by Wyndham Leipzig North?
There is a bus route from near the hotel Wodanstrasse (Wodanstr.) Bus 81,82 Thekla > Wahren take the bus to Delitzscher/Essener Str stop. From there we can take the 16 Tram to Congress Center Leipzig - Google does not have the bus routes incorporated but it should be easy to use this route during the day times instead of going to Hbf and back

The fahrplan https://www.l.de/verkehrsbetriebe/fahrplan - note the intersection at Delitzscher/Essener Str to change between buses from Thekla (Tauchaer Strasse) and tram route 16 Messegelände for CCL
The easy.GO Android App works quite well to find the departure times, the website didn't really work today.
