We are working on a free ASIC manufacturing process standard, a fully integrated EDA tool chain as well as technology nodes under a free license (the libre silicon public license). The goal is to allow everyone to build the libre silicon designs also in his basement, given she/he has the cash required to buy all the tools and put it into her/his basement.
