We reverse-engineered the update process and some other low-level details of a digital audio recorder, called the Tascam DR05. It has a Blackfin DSP as its CPU and could, with some work, run homebrew software (even Linux), but we're not yet there.
Time and place of the talk is currently undecided. Please ping us on the discussion page or IRC /msg, if you're interested!
