This lecture summarizes the most common techniques of network intrusion detection and explains their methods, advantages and disadvantages. Then the ideas and concepts behind cinderella are presented, and how they were implemented. Finally, the drawbacks of cinderella are pointed out, what is still missing from it, and how it could possibly be evaded.
