The discussion about the meaningfulness and impact of development cooperation has been going on for decades. Not only is the mindset rooted in the last millennium, but the way we work has not changed much since then. It is centralised, dominated by the supposedly "developed" countries, bureaucratic and inflexible. It is not up to the challenges and dynamics that make a broad transformation of social and economic conditions necessary.
We are working on other forms to promote social and economic change. Technology is an important tool, design creates access and can pave the way. What is decisive is a way of working that is open to the future, that does not define goals, but encourages directions of movement.
