S-Bahn S5 drives in 21 minutes from Leipzig Messe to Halle(Saale). Therefore it could make sense to look for accomodations there.

www.zimmer-in-leipzig.de seems to still has rooms in leipzig available for a low price (~ 24€ - 38€ for one night).
