Description Let's paint *very* tiny pictures! I'll give you an introduction to the techniques and principles of pixel art, as well as useful hints, learning resources and software recommendations. After that, we'll paint a few 16x16 pixel-sized pictures together. If you use Twitter, you'll like this format, as well! :)

If you want to prepare, you can install a suitable program beforehand. GIMP works okay, but my recommendation is Aseprite, which is specialized on pixel art. Sadly, it's no longer free software since last year, but you'll find the GPL version (v1.1.7) in your software repositories. Or you can build it from source. For Windows, you can find binaries, as well.

If you have a mouse (the inanimate kind), bring it! This workshop was first held at Hackover 2016, this is the 4th incarnation! \o/
