We are a non-profit project aiming towards a world without risk of nuclear disaster, called TDRM (short for Tihange Doel Radiation Monitoring). We built a distributed sensor network to monitor radiation in the area around the unstable power plants Tihange and Doel in Belgium. In contrast to official authorities, we enable everyone to see every change in radiation immediately and in great detail. We can provide our local authorities with information on upcoming exceptional event hours earlier than our national institutions. We learnt a lot about how to use technology to raise awareness and sparking a change in society.
