Classic client-server based IoT has several problems:
- users can be spied by manufacturer
- devices can be remotely disabled (see: Google Nest)
- devices need internet access to function, LAN doesn't suffice
All these problems are solved by P2P-based technologies though they haven't gained much adoption. I describe P2P overlay network Husarnet, which is suited for embedded devices and integrates with ROS (Robot Operating System).
