As KiCad library maintainer I followed the development of the KiCad library in the last 2 years closely. Since joining, there is some heavy refactoring happening, which is also sometimes noticable on the user-side (normally when something breaks). This talk tries to clarify how the KiCad library is build now, and what people should expect with the KiCad 5 release to change.
