Videogames have a culture of being a unique medium for exploring complex systems and ideas. 'Off Grid' is a third person stealth / hacking game which forgoes weapons for hacking tools and ingenuity, and it is completely moddable.

We will be setting up some places to play in Milliways at 33c3, so come down, hang out and play the demo of the game.

Rich Metson, one of the developers, will be on hand to talk about the game and the ideas behind it, and if timings work out may well give an informal talk on how modding works in 'Off Grid' and what players can expect from this hacking game in the future.

Modders and hackers (many of us who caught the hacking bug by messing around with games in the first place) will be able to use the modding features in the game to tell new and interesting stories about hacking, data privacy and surveillance, create new hacking tools in the game, and who knows maybe even drop a 0day or two for real inside the game :)

Come down to hear more!
