Location for self-organized sessions maybe
Self-organized session notes Ad-hoc hacking sessions on autopilot hardware/software. Nothing explicitly planned but we expect some stuff will happen spontaneously.

Note: The location on the map does not represent a reservation of a location and might not represent the actual place, where a assembly can be found. The place can be changed within the form of the assembly by anyone. It will be updated by the assembly itself on day 0 or day 1 as soon as the actual location is known.

We are a collaboration between Berlin hackers and the Seawatch NGO. We are developing and building autonomous open-source long-range drones to help finding and rescuing refugees in the Mediterranean sea.

Our assembly is meant to complement our talk (entitled "Searchwing" in the "Hardware & Making" track) and provide both a public hacking area for the drones and and a gathering place for everyone who is interested in the activities of Seawatch. We will appreciate in-depth technical feedback on our talk as well as visitors interested in the humanitarian volunteer work in general. People are always welcome to have a close look at our drones and the hardware stack we are using. This is a purely humanitarian project, benefiting from complete openness. We happily put all knowledge and expertise we gather into the public domain. Autonomous drone use needs to be democratized and humanized. We need to level the playing field and counterbalance all the unethical uses drones are being put to by governments and military. Our talk and especially this assembly will help with that.
