PwnThyBytes is a CTF team from Romania, Bucharest consisting of specialists from Bitdefender with an unquenchable thirst for knowledge and technical challenges. Starting out as a team called "Hexcellents" in 2013 in the Politehnica University of Bucharest, it maintained presence in the Top 40 teams in 2013 according to CTFtime. Due to some context changes, there was a need for a more professional setting. The core members then joined the Bitdefender company and established a more objective-oriented team while also gathering some new members into the company and into the CTF team.
Aside from doing our best at renowned contests we also like to give back to the community. To this end, since 2015 we have been training the Romanian national team for the European Cybersecurity Challenge, a European-scale contest for non-professional security-minded youth.
