Is the discourse of individual freedoms and privacy as the prevalence answer to the political crisis today enough? What about the (political) legacy of GNU GPL which challenged the concept of private property? What about civil disobedience Aaron Swartz articulated so well in 'Guerilla Open Access Manifesto'? If we only propose and build crypto-p2p-anonymous infrastructures, which people don't really understand, do we just invite them to hide & seek game with authorities? How we do politics today?
Discussion after the talk in the Fahrplan. Public Library is the synergy of two efforts. First, it makes the case for the institution of public library and its principle of universal access to knowledge. Second, it is an exploration and development of distributed internet infrastructure for amateur librarians. If Public Library is a proposal/RFC Memory of the World is its proof of concept and reference implementation.
