Session:An introduction to gender and sex sensitive medicine

From Camp_2015_Wiki
Jump to: navigation, search

Description How come that a heart attack is defined by the symptoms most men experience?

Why has medication mostly been tested on healthy young males and then been given to old multi-morbid women? Is it possible that people express their symptoms differently? Is it possible that people act differently to different situations? Why do these aspects matter and why do they have such little impact on the treatment of patients in modern western medicine? Or do these aspects matter already? There will be an short input about the system of medicine which hopefully will develop into a group discussion. Bring questions and an open mind
