Tomato Butter (spread, vegetarian)'
Note
A super simple recipe, but great for any brunch buffet. The butter be enriched with herbs (oregano, basil, thyme or the like), but I find the plain version the best, with some sesame seeds for a bit of crunch. Can be served on bread, toast etc., also nice for sandwiches, with cheese on top... Plus: It is able to stand a few hours at warmer temperatures.
Ingredients:
- 250 g butter
- 70 g canned tomato paste (like this)
- 2 Tbsp sesame seeds
- salt, pepper

Preparation time estimated:
- 5 minutes
Directions:
- butter should be at room temperature, makes the preparation easier
- using the fork, mix butter and tomato paste until homogeneous
- add salt and pepper to taste (about 1/2 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp pepper), mix well
- add sesame seeds, mix well
- keep refrigerated until use
