LAOS - Laser Open Source is a project to write a laser cutter driver that can work on any platform. All software and hardware designed in the project is Open Source and freely distributable.
The project exists of these subdivisions:
- a CUPS compatible laser cutter driver
- Conversion routine to transfer from postscript to our own GCODE-like code
- embedded code to drive the machine
- mainboard (hardware) to replace existing mainboard in laser cutter
Allthough we do not actively design laser cutters (the machine) ourselves, we encourage people to use our software and mainboard in open hardware laser cutter designs.
