It’s been 5 years since people in Belarus rose up against dictatorship of Alexander Lukashenko and for months tried to get rid of authoritarian regime through peaceful demonstrations, direct actions, strikes and acts of sabotage. The world has changed radically since that uprising with situation in Belarus becoming even more precarious since russia’s full scale invasion of Ukraine.
At this anniversary we are going to look into the past, talk about the reality of resistance against russian empire and what were the chances of success for people in Belarus in 2020 knowing all the plans of Putin at this point of history.
The presentation expects you to have basic knowledge of political situation in Belarus/Russia/Ukraine.
