Emulation is important for preserving old hardware. The same happens with old software, DOS games don't run anymore on newer (Windows) systems and many Windows 98 programs become incompatible. EasyRPG is an attempt to preserve the RPG Maker 2000 and 2003 engine by reimplementing it completely as a GPLv3 licensed open source engine. The Player is multiplatform and easily portable. It is still unfinished but many games are already playable. We also provide an editor but it is far from complete.
We search users (please report bugs), developers (for Player and Editor) and artists (for creating replacement assets of the Runtime Package, which is a collection of assets distributed with RPG Maker 2000)
