Location for self-organized sessions | yes |
Self-organized session notes | We plan to make of the assembly a place for meeting people interested in getting involved with the project, bringing their own expertise/perspective for the development of the project. We will do an introductory session on the 27th and offer an overview of the project as well as the coming developments of the project.
These include : - streaming first person video - 360° video filmmaking - interpersonal biofeedback - multisensory perception tricks From there will hopefully unfold a hackathon where people are invited to bring their own ideas to the project and be given the chance to experiment. This also includes non-techical people. |

The Machine to be Another, developed by BeAnotherLab and collaborators, is an open-source (CC-BY-NC-SA) interdisciplinary research project at the intersection of art, science and technology. It uses virtual reality and embodiment techniques from neuroscience research that allow to induce the illusion of owning someone else's body to research the relationship between identity and empathy. It has taken the form of various interactive installations where people are invited to swap perspectives and share personal stories. The Machine to be Another has been presented in a wide variety of contexts, from science to art and conflict resolution.
Last year it was presented during a talk at 31C3, and we now wish to meet people interested in contributing and create new research ventures and ideas with them.
