Planning notes We offer a travel agency. So we need an office with a front, which acts as information desk and meeting point for the tours. In the back of that space we just want a small area to hang out. 2-3 tables for the front would be nice.

Container Terminal Tour

The harbour tour "eye to eye with giants" takes you directly onto the container terminals of the second largest harbour in europe. You will visit CTA (Container Terminal Altenwerder, more about the terminal. In German only), with semi-automated container bridges and fully-automated transfer and storage of containers. The onsite container transport is done by fully-automated container transport vehicles. The only drawback is, you have to stay inside the tour bus.

Elbphilharmonie Tour

The Elbphilharmonie tour takes you directly onto the construction site of Hamburgs new concert hall. The project should have been finished in 2010, but this obviously didn't happen. The new opening date is planned in spring 2017. Original project costs of 77 million EUR turned out to be more like 575 million EUR. It got a little bit more expensive... The glass structure is built upon a former warehouse (Kaispeicher A) and rises up to 110m height. Although the project is discussed rather controversial its an amazing construction site and worth a visit for everyone interested in large construction projects or German citizen who would like to know where his tax money went!

MS Stubnitz

The MS Stubnitz is a large ex-fishing Vessel, made in the GDR and commisioned in 1964. She is one of the last examples of the shipbuilding-skills of the socialist countrys and she remains mostly in her original configuration. She has been used for Fleet-fishing of herring. During that times she was able to deep-freeze 60 ton fish per day and to store nearly 2000m³ of deepfrozen fish. After the fall of the Wall, the Stubnitz was transformed into a cultural arche. The Cargoholds got emptied of fish-production machinery and were transformed into concert venues with an impressive soundsystem.

The elektromechanical mainengine, the bridge, the shiphospital, the enormous DC-system to freeze tons of fish and the radioroom remain unchanged and are still in original and working condition.
