Sandstorm is open source software that you can install today that makes it easy to run self-hosted services like Etherpad, LibreBoard, Let's Chat, and more. It's used by individuals, the Tor Project, and many others.
It looks like a usability project but is secretly a security project. You'll learn how apps are sandboxed aggressively, with no network access and limited access to the kernel API via seccomp, and how all this makes it easier for more people to run open source web apps.
I'm a core developer and always happy to chat about it.
