Der Theatertechniker Elias baut zusammen mit seinen Freunden ein voll funktionsfähiges Steampunk-U-Boot. Während Nico Menschen aus den Wellen des Mittelmeers rettet, rät der 70-jährige Künstler Jim: „Tu es nicht. Repariere keine Autos, sondern mach lieber etwas im Leben, was du wirklich willst.“ Elias fragt sich: Muss man sich zwischen Selbstverwirklichung und selbstlosem Handeln entscheiden? Wovon hängt die Verantwortung gegenüber Einzelpersonen oder der Gesellschaft insgesamt ab?

Theatre engineer Elias builds a fully functional steampunk submarine together with his friends. While Nico rescues people from the waves of the Mediterranean, the 70-year-old artist Jim advises: ”Don‘t do it. Don’t fix cars, but rather do something in life that you really want to”. Elias asks himself: Is there a decision to be made between self-realization and selfless-action? Upon what does responsibility towards individuals or larger society depend?
