BigBrotherAwards – the gala of the year’s biggest privacy fails

Since 2000, we’ve been presenting the BigBrotherAwards – the awards absolutely nobody wants to win. We expose those who snoop in secret, grab data with both hands, or treat fundamental rights as optional extras. Whether it’s a corporation, a government agency, or a “smart” tech solution with a built-in surveillance trapdoor – we put it on stage.

Our jury of nerds, activists, lawyers and researchers digs deep into the darker corners of the digital world every year. The result: transparency, public pressure – and, sometimes, a noticeable political shift.
