Cameras and Privacy
Photo Policy
Please note that during the entire event, we have a strict no-photo policy, unless everyone in the picture has given explicit consent to it. This does include shots that are normally legal, such as taking pictures of a crowd, or having people in the background of photos. This is in place to protect those of us who do not feel comfortable with having their image in someone elses hand, so please be respectful and enjoy the moment now, instead of taking pictures for later. If you see someone violating this policy, please remind them of it, or if it makes you feel uncomfortable, call Security (DECT: 110).
Surveillance Cameras
This policy also applies to us, so we do our best to minimize the number of cameras. The entire surveillance system will be shut down, almost all cameras are offline. And since we also tape over our laptop cams, just to be sure, we will cover as many of the cameras to give you extra peace of mind. Please do not try to cover up any cameras yourself, especially with stickers or markers. This just generates extra costs for us in the end to clean/replace them. If you have any questions or feedback about this topic, you can call DECT: 1984
Active Cameras
The Elevators
- The elevators have emergency cameras installed. They are only active if the emergency button is pushed.
- This is required by law since 2022, so that speech impaired people are able to communicate in an emergency.
- The cameras do not belong to the CCH, but directly to the city Hamburg.
- While we could cover them, we would then have to shut down the elevators, making the CCH no longer accessible for everyone.
The Halls
- Hall 1, Hall GLITCH (G), and Hall ZIGZAG (Z) have non-surveillance cams installed to estimate the number of people in the hall.
- These cameras are mounted in the upper back, pointing towards the seats/stage from behind.
- They do not have a sufficient resolution to make out faces, and the feed is not recorded. It is only used by our teams.
H1/2
- The logistics area between the entrances H1/2 and Hall H might have active cameras, this is unconfirmed so far.
- This is required for insurance purposes, since trucks and heavy machinery is being used in this area.
- This is only relevant for angels that help during build-up and tear-down.
Raddison
- The Raddison Blu has its own cameras that we have no influence over.
- There aren't many, two dome cameras over the caffè that might see parts of the plaza infront of the CCH, another near the main entrance.
Dammtor
- The DB has a full surveillance suite at the station.
- Recordings are supposedly deleted after 72h.
- The western exit tunnel only has a single dome camera.
- For more details, check the map.
