Quartz glass trays are industrially manufactured as silica glass crucibles to grow silicon monocrystalline as circuit boards for the semiconductor industry - a greenhouses for the future. As a sound architect, Pina Bettina Rücker has been researching the possible uses of quartz sound bowls as a musical instrument for ten years. They are made of the purest silica, which counts among the amorphous solids. In the form of a singing bowl, quartz can produce almost pure sine-tone in an analogue / acoustic manner.
