Food Hacking Base (fhb) is an open group of people interested in experimenting with foods, drinks and related bio hacking. After few years of promoting these activities at main hacker events we want to established portal which will build on already existing community promoting food hacking activities more in individual hackerspaces. The idea is to serve as an open platform to share knowledge in the field and to coordinate and help to realize and fund related projects.
The aim of fhb is to serve both as a promoter of food, beverage and bio hacking activities and awareness in the hacker community but also trying to identify and solve issues which many of the less technological focused food related movements like for example slow food movement may have. This bridging of technology oriented people who are very often fundamentally disconnected from nature, with people and subjects who are on the other hand well grounded but having major issues or even repulsion towards the tech and tech people is an "epical topic" but very important one to work on. We want now to further build up on our existing community now, aiming to create a well cared portal to share interesting projects, thoughts and experience. We also help to be able to promote and help to run and fund projects which we feel are important for development of the field of food, beverage and bio-hacking.
