This workshop is going to be a basic introduction into the concept of probiotics, prebiotics and fermentations with hands on part where you learn how to brew your own kefir culture. You will learn both basic theory and practical handling of the culture which you are encouraged to take home and keep happily growing and abusing all your friends and family! We will demonstrate the separation of the kefir liquid (whey) and "kefir yogurt" and show you what are the cool ways of using them to make really nice foods and drinks like a light kefir, granola fruit salad or world wide champion non alcoholic ginger beer. The workshop is donation based, no one turned away for lack of funds, the main target is to cover the cost of ingredients and if possible part of the travelling costs of the tutor.

Please note that due to the possibly larger numbers of participants we may not have enough kefir grains to share with everyone, we may have to hand out the liquid culture which is absolutely fine, have been using it for around three years.
