3dPrinting
3D printing, CNC milling, paper cutting, CNC painting,....
'No email about a table yet. Shall we bring anything at all? This stuff is heavy.

Things presented
3D printing at the table. Also showing off other toolheads for
- clay-extrusion,
- CNC-drawing,
- desktop CNC-milling.
(Probably only printing and drawing shown in action due to noise/dirt.)
Workflow from CAD or Blender over G-code generation with Skeinforge or Replicator-G to actual printing, assembly and calibration.
- Feedback session about improving your printer, common issues, defining the state of the art.
Showing lots of actually useful 3d printed things instead of just pretty test-objects. (e.g. otherwise terribly expensive camera-equipment)
Discussing:
- the fine points of mechanical design and
- designing for 3d printing as well as
- avoiding it's pitalls.
(minimizing warping by design, overhangs, bridges/gaps, allowances/tolerances, shrinking, comparing different materials, threads for bolts,...)
- Mixing electronics with mechanical designs.
- choosing the right printer/extruder/hot-end/software
- advancing the state of the art
Maybe prepating 1-2 lightning talks on short notice on topics that turn out to collect lots of interest.
Space
@27c3-orga: 2 tables 4 chairs
- 1 working printer
- 1 large spool of PLA (plastic)
- some alternative toolheads

Equipment
Marcus:
- brings at least Thing-o-Matic 3d printer and alternative toolheads (MK6 extruder, PCB Milling-Head+PCB-holder, Unicorn pen-plotter, Plastruder MK2)
- MAYBE a second printer (highly modified Repman) with 2 print-heads for multi-material-printing + milling-head
- shows Alibre Design, Blender, Autocad 123D, Skeinforge, Replicator-G, custom Firmware-development on ToM and Repman
- selection of printed objects that are in actual use.
Eberhard:
- brings some printed sample objects
- shows Pleasant3D, OpenSCAD
