General Information

The Kidspace, a.k.a. Family Village, is the place for everybody who brings their kids to Camp. It's situated nicely between the playground and the lake, and a bit away from notorious party makers.

The space is self-organized, so your contribution in any form is welcome. Also, there is no professional child care - you're still responsible for your kids.

However, we will have a large community kitchen tent, with a corner for babies and toddlers, and hopefully a play tent full of lego. The kitchen tent is also the perfect place for workshops with the kids.

If you plan to organize any activities, events, toys, etc., please add your information here.

You will find the kidspace on this map - the blue area that reads kidspace is the public tents, the area around it needs to stay clear. You can put up your tents (in the lightgreen areas) to the east in the lower left corner of R6 (turn Grid on on the map), in the upper right corner of O6 and in the lightgreen area betwen the train tracks and the road called 'Moo Moo Farm'. Please put up your tents densely so all participants can find a spot and be aware that you might need to move if your tent is packed in an area that has not been declared for tents (that includes the Caravans Area in the Kidspace) or too near to the rail tracks (the train will be operational!!) or if your tents are simply not dense enough. The distance that needs to stay clear from the tracks is 2 meter from the center of *each* track.

The Villages south to MooMooFarm are generally family friendly, and to the northwest you will find the hamradio-operators from D23:Chaoswelle. The overall volume of the area should be ok, hence.

the parking lots will be at the far side of the campsite, please calculate with some distance to walk from the parking lot to the kidspace.

There will be small luggage wagons (handcarts/bollerwagen) at the entrance which can be temporarily used to get stuff to and from the campingground.

!! If you want to take a camper to the kidspace, please note that you NEED to have a camper ticket. If you dont have a camper ticket, your camper/RV needs to stay on the parking lot without power, water, etc. You may have luck with the Ticket_Exchange.

Places

At the Family village there will be four main areas for Workshops and activities.

  1. A big circus tent, great place if it rains
  2. The kitchen tent (8x20m) with 20 tables and 40 benches (20 Bierzeltgarnituren) and a toddler-area
  3. Area at the Family Village with no tents for outdoor activities
  4. There will also be a stage where concerts for kids will happen.

Enter your Workshop/activity proposal here

For activities happening at a certain time (or multiple times): Don't forget to create a self-organized session for it and set the "kids session" flag. Then it will appear in this overview of all kids' sessions of the camp.

List of things that you should bring with you

  • We will have a large amount of very simple plates, bowls (as replacement for deep plates) and silverware. Please bring cups and bottles for your personal use (i.e. tea and refilling drinking water).
  • A cutting board and your favourite kitchen knife if you want to help cooking
  • A long power cord (25m or so), and a power strip or three, please note that outdoor cables should be usable for outdoor. Indoor-power-cables are not sufficient!

Community Kitchen

We'll be running a community kitchen again.

*PLEASE* add yourself to the Shifts now!

The idea is that we're pooling some money to go shopping for food, and have volunteers do a bit of cooking. The goal is to have at least one warm meal per day, served in the evening, both vegetarian and carnivore. Then there's bread rolls, cold cuts, fruits and whatever we come up with during the day. With a bit of luck, we will have a wood fired pizza oven for snacks during the day, keep your fingers crossed!

We're calculating €3/day for kids age 2-6, €6/day for kids 7-12, and €10 for older kids and grownups.

If you like to participate, please add your information to the following table as soon as possible. Deadline is August 3rd! We need to budget and order with the suppliers. If you'd like to help cooking, or if you have some gastro gear, please add this information too.

You might have to bring your own cups, glasses, plates and silverware. We're looking into providing this centrally, stay tuned for updates.. Also, if you arrive before August 19th, we will probably have no power (and thus no cooling) yet, and limited cooking options.

For all those offering to bring stuff: this is very helpful, thanks a lot! Everything currently on the list will be useful, please do bring it. Only exception: please don't bring any cooking gear that heats things using electricity. Electricity is scarce, we need to cook with gas.
