Telnet - Klartext reden
Welcome to Team TELNET!
Once upon a time, a diverse group of IT enthusiasts decided at 30c3 that the world was in dire need of more Telnet. This is how Team TELNET was born – an eclectic mix of Bavarian charm, North German humor and a generous touch of whiskers.
Telnet is synonymous with “speaking plainly”: because we take a position and don’t beat around the bush.
Bearded, Bavarian, North German: With members from all over Germany, from the coast to the Alps, we bring a variety of dialects, traditions and recipes for the perfect potato salad. Our mission is to share the enthusiasm for Telnet and IT in general.
We are old, wise men and young, colorful women: Our community bridges generations. From young to old, we welcome everyone, whether you've just written your first "Hello World" code or are adept at punching card holes!
Since 34c3 we've proudly hosted the legendary Waving Cat Challenge, also known as the Telnet Challenge. Participants can showcase their skills while having lots of fun. Successful participants are rewarded with our exclusive “TELNET – KLARTEXT REDEN” T-shirts, funded through private means and donations.
With humor, expertise and a dash of madness, we create unforgettable encounters. Our Waving Cat Challenge is just the tip of the iceberg.
We also maintain a small Arduino shop where we offer microcontroller parts cost price or a donation. Enthusiastic electronics hobbyists receive one-on-one support for their projects—both analog and digital.
At Camp 2019, we organized a treasure hunt for the children in the Family Village. Our goal is to deepen understanding of cryptography, passwords, and hashes.
Though we are not an official association, we consider ourselves part of the chaotic family of the Chaos Communication Congress. Spread across Germany, we only meet offline at these special events.
And they lived happily ever after and continue to think up crazy things to make the community a little more colorful!

Pay attention! Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, hackers and hackerettes, all in between and beyond!
At the "TELNET - PLAIN SPEAKING" assembly there's a lot to discover, but THIS is something you absolutely must not miss. We present to you: The "Hot-Wire" in the form of a 23!
Yes, you heard right! A 23 has sneaked into our hot wire and is waiting to be conquered by you. Prove your steady hand and your eagle eye. No trembling, no swaying allowed. Only the wire and you - a duel of a very special kind.
There are two badges to win: "Master of Precision", if you manage it flawlessly and "Lightning Rod", if you additionally need less than ten seconds for this feat.
But wait! Now comes the kicker, we're throwing in an extra: If you manage it flawlessly - yes YOU there at the back, or YOU here at the front - if you have the steadiest hand of the day and get through the twists of our 23 fastest, then we have something very special for you!
A T-Shirt! Yes that's right - an exclusive "TELNET - PLAIN SPEAKING" T-Shirt is waiting as a main prize for you! But beware: Only the fastest of the day can claim this shirt as their own.
So what are you waiting for? Show us your steady hand and your eagle eye crack open the Hot Wire. Who knows - maybe you'll be the victor of the day and walk away with one of these coveted, strictly limited edition T-shirts. So get on with it!
-- Arduino Späti
We do have a weakness: we buy way too much on Aliexpress. Our warehouse is full to the ceiling and we have a few things with us. These are microcontroller boards (not just Arduino, also ESP and ARM), lots of interfaces and sensors and of course LEDs.
So if you need parts or just want to take a look, come by. By the way: we don't want to use it to finance the congress, but rather sell everything at cost price! If you are penniless and convince us of your project idea, we might give something for free - provided the project becomes open source.
