Sea-Watch e.V. is a non-profit organization that carries out civilian search and rescue operations and civilian aerial reconnaissance missions at the world's deadliest border. In light of the humanitarian crisis, Sea-Watch provides emergency aid, calls for and pushes for rescue operations by European institutions, and publicly advocates for legal escape routes. The CivilMRCC is a coordination and documentation platform for people in distress at sea and functions as a growing network of solidarity that brings together various non-governmental actors and individuals with search and rescue experience in the Mediterranean. Sea-Watch and the CivilMRCC are politically and religiously independent and are financed exclusively by donations.
