Hamburg local group of digitalcourage e.V. Digitalcourage (formerly: der FoeBuD) has been campaigning for fundamental rights and data protection since 1987. Digitalcourage brings together a wide variety of people who want to critically explore technology and politics and shape them in a humane way.

We oppose the "datafication and commodification" of our democracy. We do not want a society in which people are treated merely as marketing objects, pawns in the dismantling of the welfare state, or potential terrorists. We want a vibrant democracy.

Digitalcourage educates through public relations work, lectures, events and charming campaigns. For example, Digitalcourage organises the annual BigBrotherAwards ("Oscars for data leeches") in Germany. We use our expertise to intervene in political processes, even when not asked to do so.

Digitalcourage works for a world worth living in in the digital age.
