I have been debugging an external USB C monitor that fails to work with my Thinkpad p14s gen2 amd on Linux but works on Windows. I narrowed down the protocol implementation to https://github.com/torvalds/linux/blob/master/drivers/usb/typec/altmodes/displayport.c and then diffed the communications obtained in Linux and Windows.
