10 years ago, the law providig for a compulsory intelligent patient chip card in Germany took effect. Today about 60 million people in ths country have this card. None of the applications provided for in 2003 exists today. We habe no electronic patient's records, no electronic prescription, no electronic medical report. One of the latest application ideas of German health insurance system, master data management, now is only application to be realized in near future. In 2015, tests of it may begin in some experimental regions.
There will be an introductory talk about the project's current state, with a demonstration of card data, and presentation on infrastructure. We will discuss perspectives of data protection of medical data in Germany, and related action. We experienced most different civic action during this project, whistleblowing, boycott, lawsuits, resolutions of doctor's and information scientist's organizations, voter's registration for social security elections. What was its outcome? What to do next?
