Wouldn't it be very useful to have a bike at the camp? For example if you want to go to the hardwarestore because you need to build something but you ran out of nails? Or you just want to cycle around the camp or want to be a couple of hours gone on a tour or you just need to go to the other side of the camp or you want to head over to the airfield to have a look at the people and their the RC-planes...

The idea is to share bikes. Nobody is going to sit on a bike 24/7 thus we can reduce the number of bikes significantly. There is a place in Finowfurt that rents out bikes (5 days: 22 Euros). We could place several bikes at specific point (such as the info desk) and everyone can grab a bike if he needs one.

I have a bike with a DECT telephone attached, which im willing to lend people i personally know. condition: people who lend my bike should carry the phone with them so I can call my bike back if i need it. -> Stephanie

If other people will participate in this concept they probably can request a DECT-pool from the POC - when someone needs a bike he/she call the Callergroup-Number and a person in the callergroup who is willing to share the bike pick up the call and share the bike.

I am interested in using a shared bike and am very happy to donate money, but I don't know whether someone rented shared bikes or where they are (or how their use is scheduled or coordinated). Can anyone give an update? Schoen 09:36, 9 August 2007 (CEST)

So far it did not. I started this page, but I wanted this to be a project we do together not a project that I organise alone. The main issue is that I do not want to have the responsibility for the bikes alone. (See the Diskussion page).

Anyway: If you want to take over the project: Do it.

Question: Can anyone tell us the best place to go rent a bicycle here? In the above section it is mentioned with the price. I would like to go there and rent. foz 14:36, 9 August 2007 (CEST)

Please "donate" at least 5 Euros to this "project". Judge yourself how much you are going to use the bike and donate an appropiate amount of your choice. Well... actually: Just add your name to the table below. We will rent as many bikes as we can using this money:
