In Terry Pratchett's Discworld, the Grand Trunk is the implementation of optical telegraphy, which has been in use in various forms for centuries in our world as well. The first version inspired by Discworld will be presented at the congress: a way to send short messages between two points using flaps as signals. It's done in a modern way with a keyboard, ESP32, camera, image recognition, and other tech stuff.
