/dev/emergent_order is a light installation that explores the space between chaos and structure. A one-meter cube stands on one of its corners, filled with around 1,000 RGB LEDs. The LEDs are installed in irregular paths inside the cube: there is no fixed plan for how they are arranged. At first, the lights look random and messy. But over time, patterns slowly appear, move, and fade again. The installation shows how order can grow out of chaos, and how both states can exist in the same system.
